ZH20 -Renewal/Cancellation of a NOC for Handling Non-Halal Food Products

This service, offered by the Public Health and Safety Department at Ras Al Khaimah Municipality, allows registered food establishments to renew an existing No Objection Certificate (NOC) for handling non-halal food products before it expires, or to cancel an NOC that is no longer needed. The entire process, from submission to tracking and receiving the final outcome, is completed electronically through the RAK Digital Portal using UAE PASS.

What Will You Get?

Renewal: a renewed electronic No Objection Certificate for Handling Non-Halal Food Products, downloadable from the portal and sent to the applicant's registered email.

Cancellation: an official confirmation that the NOC has been cancelled.

How Do You Apply?

1) Visit the RAK Digital Portal and select the preferred language.

2) Log in with UAE PASS credentials.

3) Select the 'Corporate' role and choose the establishment from the dropdown list.

4) Go to Government Entities > RAK Municipality > Public Health Department.

5) Select 'Renewal/Cancellation of NOC for Handling Non-Halal Food Products' and click Start.

6) Select 'Renewal' or 'Cancellation' from the dropdown.

7) Choose the relevant previously issued permit from the list (showing Request ID, Establishment Name, Permit Number, Issue Date, and Expiry Date) and click Next.

8) Review the pre-filled applicant and establishment details.

9) For Renewal, confirm or update the permit details; for Cancellation, enter the cancellation reason.

10) Upload the required documents (for Renewal, the deposit receipt where applicable; for Cancellation, the signed cancellation letter).

11) Click Submit. For Renewal, proceed to the Payment step and pay the fee; for Cancellation, confirm the action in the 'Are you sure you want to cancel it?' pop-up (no payment required).

12) Receive the confirmation: for Renewal, a screen showing the Request ID and expected handling time; for Cancellation, a 'Cancellation Request Submitted Successfully' message.

13) Track the request under 'Service Requests', and once completed, download the renewed certificate or the cancellation confirmation from the portal (also sent by email).

How Much Will You Pay?

Renewal: a fee of AED 300.

Cancellation: No fees


What Documents Do You Need?

Renewal: the non-halal permit deposit receipt (where applicable), other supporting documents may be requested.

Cancellation: a stated cancellation reason and a signed cancellation letter (mandatory).

*Each file must not exceed 3 MB and must be in JPG, PNG, or PDF format.

What Terms and Limitations Apply?

Terms:

  • Renewal is available only for an NOC previously issued to the establishment, selected from the list of its existing permits, and must be requested before the certificate's expiry date shown on the permit record.

  • Cancellation requests require the applicant to explicitly confirm the cancellation ('Yes') before it is finally submitted.

  • Applicants must keep their registered email and mobile number up to date to receive notifications.

  • If an officer requires modifications or additional documents on a Renewal request, its status changes to 'Waiting for your action' and must be resubmitted through the portal.

  • Uploaded files must not exceed 3MB each and must be in JPG, PNG, or PDF format.

Limitations:

  • This service is restricted to registered corporate establishments that already hold a previously issued NOC

  • individual applicants and establishments without an existing NOC cannot use it - a new establishment must first obtain the NOC through the Issuance transaction.

  • The Cancellation transaction does not include a site-inspection stage or a fee.

  • Attachments are limited to 3MB per file in JPG, PNG, or PDF format only.
