Need to set up a food truck, warehouse, or a Majlis temporarily within your land plot? You can now apply for a temporary building permit, provided the structure is within plot boundaries and fits one of the approved categories below:     -  Food trucks (fixed or temporary).

-  Temporary buildings within residential plots: eg, Majlis, Warehouse, Restrooms.

-  Temporary structures at construction sites related to ongoing works

How Do You Apply?

  1. You can apply for this service through your consultant at https://rakdigital.rak.ae by using your UAE Pass and select “Temporary Building Permit” to begin your application.

  2. Fill in the application form and upload all required documents.

  3. Pay the initial fee.

  4. Schedule the inspector's site visit and upload the report after paying the site visit fee.

  5. The referred engineer will review the required documents and inspection report for compliance with building regulations.

  6. Pay the final fee through one of the following methods: the website, the mRAK Smart App, or payment machines at Customer Happiness Centres.

  7. Once we approve, the building permit will be issued electronically.

How Much Will You Pay?

  • Submission: AED 100

  • Inspector’s Fee: AED 100

  • Final Fee (per temporary building): AED 300

  • Insurance Fee (if required for contractors): AED 500


What Documents Do You Need?

  • Land Document (Sketch) : Affection plan, title deed (if any).

  • Building Permit : Previous Building Permits.

  • Emirates ID : A valid copy of owner’s ID.

  • Application Form : Indicating number and area of temporary buildings.

  • Trade License : Temporary building contractor or company (if construction is involved).

  • Assignment Letter : From owner to consultant (if submitted through the latter).


What Terms and Limitations Apply?

Terms :

  • Service not available for vacant plots.

  • Caravans for bedrooms/large kitchens are not allowed in residential plots.

  • Temporary buildings in commercial plots are only allowed for office use.

  • Construction outside plot boundaries is not permitted.
