Promoting the Initial Adoption of Efficient Vehicles by the Government of Ras Al Khaimah
We, Saud bin Saqr bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah
After reviewing:
the Federal law no. 21 of 1995 concerning traffic, as amended,
the law of Ras Al Khaimah Municipality of 1981, as amended,
Emiri Decree No.27 of 2017 on the Establishment of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Committee,
In line with the Ras Al Khaimah Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Strategy 2040
And based on public interest
We have resolved as follows:
Article (1)
All Government Entities shall strive to adopt efficient vehicles in their fleets in order to reduce energy consumptions.
Article (2)
Starting from the year 2019 until 2021, at least 30% of the new light vehicles purchased and enrolled in the vehicle fleet of Government Entities must be efficient vehicles.
Article (3)
All Government Entities shall submit periodical progress reports on the Objective to the Energy Efficiency and Renewables Administration, who will consolidate all information and report directly to The Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah.
Article (4)
The Chairman of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Committee, will issue detailed implementation guidelines for this resolution.
Article (5)
This resolution shall take effect from January 1st 2019 until December 31st 2021 and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
